CARMIGNANO RISERVA Piaggia Cabernet-Sangiovese 2012 90- Long before the Super Tuscan wines were born, the winemakers in Carmignano were blending Cabernet and Sangiovese grapes together. This is an excellent value red wine

AGLIANICO DEL V ULTURE Basilisco ‘Basilisco’ 2009 95- This is a “rustic” red wine with very good bottle age, to soften the tannins.

Over $100.00

ETNA ROSSO Graci ‘Arcuria’ 2014 105- The grapes grown in the volcanic soil of Mt Etna possess intense mineral and dark fruit flavors. Graci is a fantastic winemaker.

CASTELLO DI NEIVE ‘Santo Stefano Albesani’ 2009 125- This excellent value Nebbiolo wine is from the famed Santo Stefano vineyard and the 2009 vintage was fantastic.

GATTINARA Nervi ‘Vigneto Molsino’ 2008 (Piemonte) 160-

PRODUTTORI DEL BARBARESCO RISERVA ‘Ovello’ 2008 180- Produttori del Barbaresco is one of my favorite producers of Nebbiolo wines. This Riserva bottle is from the Ovello vineyard and is produced from the very good 2008 vintage.

TAURASI RISERVA Mastroberardino ‘Radici’ 1998 (Campania) 205- This is an excellent value for a wine that is 20 years old and Taurasi are master winemakers.

BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO ALTE SINO ‘Montosoli’ 2005 (Toscana) 240-

FATTORIA DEI BARBI RISERVA 2004 275- T

BARTOLO MASCARELLO 2009 250-

LE PERGOLE TORTE MONTEVERTINE Sangiovese 2006 325- This is one of my favorite Sangiovese Tuscan wines. The 2006 vintage was excellent and Montevertine are master winemakers.

BAROLO BRUNO GIACOSA ‘Falletto’ 2008 (Piemonte) 350- Bruno Giacosa is an “old school” master winemaker from Barolo and the 2008 vintage was very good. There is enough bottle age to make this wine very approachable tonight.

CASTELLO DI AMA ‘Vigneto Bellavist a’ 2006 375- Castello di Ama is like the “Chateau Latour” of Chianti and the 2006 vintage was excellent. Castello di Ama Chiantis require bottle age to be enjoyed. Here you have the required bottle age to allow the complex Sangiovese fruit flavors to emerge.
