Pinot Meunier/Pinot Noir, Duc de Romet NV (Champagne, FR) 85- This is a Blanc de Noir Champagne [Pinot Noir-Pinot Meunier] which is “dry”. This is a very good value Champagne.

 

Rose Champagne “Spumante Rosato,” Edi Kante NV (Friuli) 95- This is a very “pretty” Rose Champagne with red fruit [strawberry] flavors.

Friulano Tocai Friulano, La Castellada 2007 (Friuli) 130- This is an excellent Friulano with great stone fruit [peach] flavors.

Chardonnay Colli Orientali del Friuli, Meroi 2014 (Friuli) 148-

Trebbiano d’ Abruzzo, Emidio Pepe 2011 (Abruzzo) 212- 

 

 

Orange

    

This is the “new” wine descriptive that is being used for white wines produced with the skins left on the grapes. The wine develops an Orange hue.

 

 

Trebbiano “Arboreus,” Paolo Bea 2010 (Umbria) 110- Paolo Bea is a brilliant winemaker in Umbria Italy. This wine has exotic fruit and intense orange rind flavors.

Barbera d’ Alba, Giacomo Vico 2011 (Piemonte) 68-

Aglianico “Titolo,” Elena Fucci 2014 (Campania) 90-This “rustic” red wine has dark fruit [black cherry] and black pepper flavors.

 

Barbaresco, “Rio Sordo” Produttori del Barbaresco 2008 (Piemonte) 160- 

 

Toscana Rosso, Riecine 2010 (Toscana) 160- The 2010 vintage was excellent in Tuscany, so the fruit flavors will be “lush”.

 

“Vigneto Pagliaro,” Paolo Bea 2010 (Umbria) 180- 

 

Barolo, Bartolo Mascarello 2006 (Piemonte) 295-This Barolo [Nebbiolo] is from the “near perfect” 2006 vintage and Mascarello is an “old school” master winemaker.
