Dr. Konstantin Frank Riesling "Dry" - Finger Lakes 2015 45.-Do not dismiss this Riesling from Upstate New York. The Riesling grape thrives in the cold climate and fantastic “dry” white wines are being made there.

Sancerre “Le Chene Marchand” L. Crochet 2015 38. 76.- This is Sauvignon Blanc from Lucien Crochet, who is an amazing winemaker. Sancerre is a very versatile wine with citrus and pineapple flavors. You can pair Sancerre with “rich” food.

Chardonnay Peter Michael “La Carriere” - Sonoma County 2015 195.-This is a fantastic Chardonnay from California. I have tasted Peter Michaels Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs on several occasions and have always been impressed.

Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru “Abbaye De Morgeot” O. Leflaive 2014 225.-

Corton Charlemagne Domaine Rollin Père & Fils 2010 270. . A great wine value.

Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos De La Mouchére" Domaine H. Boillot 2015 270.- This is  a Premier Cru [ grapes grown in the special Clos de La Mouchere vineyard] Chardonnay. Henri Boillot is a master winemaker who is able to express the true terroir [unique scents and flavors of the soil and surrounding flora/fauna] in his wines. There are great citrus and “chalky” flavors in this beautiful wine. The 2015 was an excellent vintage.

Rose

Paul Coulon Beaurenard”BiotfulFox” Vins de Provence 2016 56.- A pretty light Rose.

Red

Under $100.00

Nebbiolo Canavese Rosso “La Torrazza” L. Ferrando 2015 40.- This is one of the best values on the whole wine list. This wine is a blend of the Nebbiolo [Barolo grape] and the Barbera grape, so there are no tough tannins. Ferrando is a master winemaker in Carema Italy and he does magic with this inexpensive wonderful red wine. A great wine value.

Zinfandel Ravenswood “Old Vines” - Sonoma County 2014 50.This is my house wine for when guests come over for dinner. This Zin is loaded with great dark [blackberry-black cherry] fruit flavors and is a crowd pleaser. A great wine value.

Carmignano “Santa Cristina in Pilli” Ambra 2013 55.- Long before Chianti winemakers began blending Sangiovese and Cabernet grapes to make Super Tuscan wines, the producers in Carmignano were doing it for decades. This is one of my favorite red wine values to drink in a restaurant. You get a Super Tuscan style wine for a great price. An excellent value wine.

Beaujolais Morgon “Côte du Py” S. Aviron 2013 52.- Don’t confuse this Beaujolais for that “super sweet” wine. The is Cru Beaujolais from Morgon and is one of my favorite wines to drink with dinner. Cru Beaujolais can be as nuanced and complex as red Burgundy. A great wine value.

Rosso di Montalcino Uccelliera 2015 57.- Rosso di Montalcino is the “younger” “skinny” brother of Brunello di Montalcino. It has “some” of the great Brunello dark fruit flavors, without the “weight” [body]. A great value wine.

Marsannay “Clos du Roy” R. Bouvier 2012 75.

Cote du Rhone Château des Tours 2013 75.- This is no ordinary Cote du Rhone. This wine is produced by the winemaker from Chateau Rayas, who is an expert in crafting excellent wines from the Rhone valley. This fantastic red wine is a choice for those in the know. A great value wine.

Malbec Luca Malbec - Uco Valley 2013 78.-

Oregon Pinot Noir Brooks “Janus” - Willamette Valley 2013 79.- Did you know that Oregon and Burgundy, France are on the same latitude.

Ladoix L. Dumont 2012 86- This Pinot Noir has great dark fruit [blackberry-black cherry] flavors. If you have never heard of Ladoix Burgundy, put it on your wine radar.

St Joseph “Offerus” J.L. Chave 2014 90.-

Crozes-Hermitage “Aux Racines de Saint” Domaine de Lucie 2011 90-

Bordeaux St Emilion Château de Fonbel 2009 90. -The 2009 vintage was excellent so everyone produced fantastic wine. Even Petit Chateaus [small family owned wineries] that you never heard of, like Chateau de Fonbel, made great Bordeaux wine. I have been drinking a lot of 2009s from Petit Chateaus this past year and they are excellent wines. A great wine value.

Merlot Selene - Frediani Vineyard” - Napa 2013 92.- This is an amazing bottle of wine! Mia Klein is the winemaker and the 2013 vintage was excellent. This wine will change the way you define California Merlot. A special red wine.

Gigondas “Les Haut de Montmirail” Domaine Brusset 2013 95. -

Aloxe-Corton “Vieilles Vignes” E. Cornu 2010 100.- This is a fantastic Pinot Noir from Edmond Cornu, who is an amazing winemaker. The 2010 vintage was excellent.

Over $100.00

Bandol Château Pradeaux “Longue Garde” - Bandol 2007 105.- Only “wine insiders” are aware of this fantastic Bandol [Mourvedre grapes] wine. The Mourvedre grape requires bottle age to soften the intense tannins and allow the beautiful dark fruit flavors to emerge. Here you have the necessary bottle age and Chateau Pradeaux is an excellent winemaker. Ask the Sommelier to decant this wine ASAP to allow the wine to “breathe” [air out]. An excellent wine value.

Volnay 1er Cru “Clos des Chenes” Bitouzet-Prieur 2011 125.-

California Zinfandel Turley "Rattlesnake Ridge" - Howell Mountain 2015 125-

California Merlot Pride - Napa County / Sonoma County 2013 145.-If you like BIG super FRUITY California Merlot, this wine is for you!

Bordeaux Château De Fieuzal 2009 155.-This is Bordeaux from the excellent 2009 vintage. Chateau De Fieuzal is from the Graves area, so this wine will be filled with lush fruit, “gravelly”, and mineral flavors. A great wine value.

Gevrey-Chambertin “Vieilles Vignes” M. Roy 2015 150.- I recently attended a “blind” [can’t see the labels] Gevrey-Chambertin [Pinot Noir] tasting and Marc Roy’s wine came in first place. This a great value Pinot Noir.

Bordeaux Château Gombaude Guillot 2009 160- This Bordeaux is from the  excellent 2009 vintage. Château Gombaude Guillot is a Petit Chateau [small family owned winery] from the Pomerol, where the wines are comprised mostly of Merlot. Pomerol in an excellent vintage, like 2009, will have tons of lush fruit. An excellent value wine.

California Cabernet Laurel Glen - Sonoma Mountain 2012 160.  A great wine value.

Chateauneuf du Pape Domaine de la Vieille Julienne 2009 165. A good value wine.

Cote Rotie “Brune et Blonde” E. Guigal 2013 180. A very good wine value from Guigal.

Barolo “San Giuseppe” Riserva Cavallotto 2009 225- I love Cavallotto’s Barolo for their quality/price ratio.

Barolo “Colonnello” A. Conterno 2009 285- Aldo Conterno is an “old school” master winemaker in Barolo. Here is his “gem” from the great 2009 vintage with enough bottle age to really enjoy the amazing Nebbiolo flavors.

Rioja Bodegas Muga “Torre Muga” 2010 225.-

Corton Bressandes E. Cornu 2010 230.-

Bordeaux Château Duhart Milon 2009 245- Every large Chateaux puts its best grapes into the marquee label. The second best grapes go into a second label at a lesser asking price for the wine. In a fantastic vintage like 2009, there is little difference between the grapes. Here is where this bottle of wine is an extraordinary value. This is the second label of Chateau Lafite Rothschild and you can barely tell the difference between these two wines. This wine is amazing and a steal!!!

Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru “Aux Combottes” G. Barthod 2010 260.The Pinot Noirs from Chambolle are almost “ethereal”. They are light in color but possess intense red fruit [strawberry-cherry-raspberry] flavors. Ghislaine Barthod is a master winemaker in Chambolle and this wine is from the excellent 2010 vintage. Chambolle from Barthod is my favorite red Burgundy Pinot Noir wine.

California Cabernet Cain Five Red Wine - Spring Mountain 2006 285.This a fantastic California Cabernet blended [some Merlot added] wine from Spring Mountain, where special Cab fruit is grown. A good wine value.

Brunello di Montalcino "Pertimali - Riserva" L. Sassetti 2010 300.-

Morey St Denis 1er Cru “Vieilles Vignes” H. Lignier 2009 320.This Premier Cru [grapes grown in the special Vielles Vignes vineyard] Pinot noir is produced by a master winemaker, Hubert Lignier. He is able to express the true terroir [unique scents and flavors from the soil and surrounding flora/fauna] of a particular vineyard. This Pinot Noir is from the near perfect 2009 vintage and with bottle age, this could be a near perfect Pinot Noir.

Barolo “Cannubi” Prunotto 1990 365- This Barolo is 30 years old from the excellent 1990 vintage. I have been drinking a lot of wines, Italian and French, from this amazing vintage and they are just coming into their own right now. The Nebbiolo fruit in this bottle will be very evolved and complex and the tannins will be negligible. How often will you be able to taste a 30 year old Barolo from the excellent 1990 vintage?

Chateauneuf du Pape Château de Beaucastel 1998 475. This Chateauneuf du Pape is produced by the famed Chateau de Beaucastel and from the amazing 1998 vintage. A red wine with this much bottle age will have very evolved and complex fruit flavors. The fruit will convert from fresh fruit flavor to complex dried or stewed fruit flavors. Wow this wine will be sublime!

Clos de la Roche H. Lignier 2003 480.This is Grand Cru Burgundy [Pinot Noir] at its’s best. The wines from Clos de la Roche are collected and coveted by serious red Burgundy drinkers for a reason. Here Lignier, the master winemaker, creates an amazing Pinot Noir life altering experience from the excellent 2003 vintage.
