WALTER MASSA Monleale, Colli Tortonesi 2012 .................................................................................... 79-

VIETTI Bussia, Dolcetto d’Alba 1990....................................................................................................... 79- Dolcetto’s have dark fruit [blackcherry-blackberry] flavors. Since this wine is approaching 30 years of bottle age, ask the Sommelier if this Dolcetto is “tired”[lost it’s youth] and “hollow” [lost it’s fruit]. This could be an amazing red wine value because Vietti is a serious winemaker in Piedmont.

CARDEDU Caladu, Canonau 2013 ............................................................................................................... 72- The volcanic soil of Sardinia imparts a “unique” quality to the grapes grown there. This Cannonau has fantastic bing cherry and mineral flavors. This is one of my favorite value red wines.

VILLA DI GEGGIANO Chianti Classico Riserva 2009 ............................................................................ 99

LA TORRE Rosso di Montalcino 2015....................................................................................................... 85- This is the “skinny” “younger” brother of Brunello di Montalcino. It has “some” of the Brunello flavors, but with less “weight” and body. Rosso di Montalcino is an excellent value wine to order in a restaurant because you can drink Rosso them young, they have great Sangiovese grape flavors, and they are priced right. La Torre is a serious artisanal winemaker.

CASANUOVA DELLE CERBAIE, Rivale, Sangiovese/Cabernet 2010.............................................................. 89- This is a “baby” Super Tuscan from an excellent vintage.

TENUTA PONTE Taurasi 2010 ................................................................................................................. 99-

Over $100.00

PRODUTTORI DEL BARBARESCO 2012 ................................................................................................ 135- I love Produttori del Barberesco [Nebbiolo] wines because you can enjoy them young and they are priced right. The 2012 vintage was excellent so this is an excellent wine value.

BARBACARLO DI MAGO LINO Montebuono, Croatina / Uva Rara / Ughetta / Barbera 2002 ......................... 165-Ask the Sommelier to describe this “rustic” red wine produced by a small family run winery. This wine has great bottle age to soften the tannins and allow the fruit flavors to emerge.

FERRANDO Etichetta Nera 2011........................................................................................................... 175-

AI VALLONI 1999 .................................................................................................................................... 145- This Nebbiolo has almost 20 years of bottle age, which allow the fruit flavors to evolve and become more complex.

FRANK CORNELISSEN Munjebel Campo Re, Nerello Mascalese 2015 ..................................................... 155 -

GIUSEPPE QUINTARELLI Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2009......................................................... 190

TENUTA SELLA 1988 .............................................................................................................................. 199- There are many 20-30 year old Nebbiolo wines on this list at this price point. Older is not always better. Ask theSommelier to guide you through this maze of antique Nebbiolos. Ask him/her to describe these older gems and see if they match you wine style.

SYRAH ELISABETTA FORADORI Granato, Teroldego 2007 ............................................................................. 199- This is Italian Syrah produced by a fantastic winemaker. There is great red fruit [raspberry-cherry] flavor.

PAOLO BEA Cerrete, Montefalco Sagrantino 2009............................................................................... 225-

VILLA DI GEGGIANO Chianti Classico Riserva 1997 .......................................................................... 295-This Reserva [aged longer in oak before release] Chianti is from the historic 1997. I recently tasted several Chiantis from the amazing 1997 vintage, and they very youthful and exotic.

ALTESINO 1999........................................................................................................................................ 299-  Altesino produces a great Brunello for the price.

EMIDIO PEPE Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2000...................................................................................... 325-

MONTEVERTINE Riserva 1997.......................................................................................................................... 345-This is an excellent red wine from the great 1997 vintage.

PRODUTTORI DEL BARBARESCO Montefico, Riserva 1990................................................................. 375- This is 30 year old Nebbiolo is from the amazing 1990 vintage.

A Special Night
