CREMANT DE BOURGOGNE RESERVE NV bailley lapierre, burgundy, france 12 / 46- This is not “true” Champagne, but who cares? This is a beautiful sparkling wine. If you having guests, order a second bottle of this “bubbly”, and you’ll look like a sport.


BLANC DE BLANCS BRUT, CHARDONNAY 2014 schramsberg, napa, california 82-This Blanc de Blanc [all Chardonnay grapes] is made by one of the best producers in all of California. I have tasted this wine on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. What better place produces Chardonnay grapes?


BRUT ROSE, MEUNIER BLEND NV laherte freres, champagne, france 98- This is a beautiful Rose Champagne with cranberry, white pepper, and orange fruit flavors.





ROERO ARNEIS 2016 malabaila di canale ‘pradvaj’, piedmont, italy 13 / 50- I love Arneis white wine from Italy. There is  “lead pencil” notes on the nose and citrus fruit flavors. A great food wine.

 MUSCADET SEVRE ET MAINE SUR LIE MELON DE BOURGOGNE 2012 chateau haut cariziere, loire, france 45- This wine is a beautiful, floral, and lemony. A great value wine.

TREBBIANO & MONTONICO BLEND 2016 lammidia, abruzzo, italy 46- This is not your grandfather’s Trebbiano. This grape is making strong “come back” in parts of Italy, where young artisanal winemakers are creating serious Trebbiano. Very “crisp” [high acid] and “refreshing”.


GRUNER VELTLINER 2015 zuschmann-schoffman ‘muschelkalk’, niederosterreich, austria 47-Ask the Sommelier to describe [bone dry-dry-semisweet-sweet] all the Rieslings on the list. See which one matches to your preferred wine style.

VERMENTINO 2015 terre apuane ‘perle nuvole’, tuscany, italy 14 / 54- This is a “crisp” [high acid] Italian white wine with herbal flavors. The “crispness’ allows it to pair with rich food. Not sure? This wine is served by the glass, ask for a taste.


SANCERRE, SAUVIGNON BLANC 2016 domaine sylvain bailly, loire, france 54- Sancerre [Sauvignon Blanc] could be the best value white wine on any restaurant list. It has great fruit flavors [citrus+pineapple] and it pairs well with food.


SAVENNIERES, CHENIN BLANC 2013 domaine fl, loire valley, france 15 / 58- Chenin Blanc is almost clear in color and very “crisp” [high acid]. Not sure? This Chenin Blanc is served by the glass. Ask for a taste. A fantastic wine as an aperitif or with your whole meal.


CHARDONNAY 2014 pyramid valley vineyards, marlborough, new zealand 79- A very Burgundian effort. This Chardonnay has “flinty”,  citrus, and toasted bread crust notes. 


CHABLIS 1er CRU, CHARDONNAY 2014 domaine jean goulley & fils ‘fourchaume’ burgundy, france 99- Chablis [Chardonnay] is my favorite white Burgundy. It has very complex fruit and mineral flavors. The 2014 vintage was excellent, so there will be “bright” and fresh fruit flavors.






GRENACHE & CINSAULT BLEND 2016 mas de pampelonne, provence, france 47-A great Rose wine with citrus and floral elements. Provence is located near the Mediterranean, so you can taste a slight “saltiness” in this Rose.





CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2014 grapesmith and crusher columbia valley, washington 39- I prefer Washington state Cabernets in this price range. This is a “basic” “fun” Cab.


BEAUJOLAIS, GAMAY 2016 domaine celine & nicolas hirsch burgundy, france 54- Do not mistake this Beaujolais as one of those “super fruity” wines. This Beaujolais is created by an artisanal winemaking couple. Serious Beaujolais can be as complex and as nuanced as Burgundy Pinot Noir.


TEMPRANILLO RESERVA 2009 vina olabarri, rioja, spain 13 / 50- This Reserva [ more time in oak barrels] Rioja has 9 years of bottle age. This will “smooth out” the tannins and allow the cherry fruit flavors to emerge. Not sure? This wine is offered by the glass, so ask for a taste.

PINOT NOIR 2014 pike road, willamette valley, oregon 15 / 58- I prefer Oregon Pinots to California Pinots because the fruit is darker and more complex. Did you know that Oregon and Burgundy are on the same latitude? Not sure? This wine is served by the glass, so ask for a taste.


ZINFANDEL 2013 sixteen 600, sonoma valley, california 15 / 58- I love Zinfandel because there are a lot of dark fruit flavors [plums-black cherry] and earthinesss without the tannins that “grip” Cabernets. Not sure? This wine is served by the glass, so ask for a taste.


 LALANDE-DE-POMEROL, MERLOT 2014 chateau haut-musset, bordeaux, france 62- This Bordeaux wine is from a “near term drinking” vintage [meant to drank immediately and not cellared]. This predominantly Merlot wine should be beautiful.

ETNA ROSSO DOC, NERELLO MASCALESE 2014 pietro caciorgna ‘guardoilvento’, sicily, italy 75. Grapes grown in volcanic soil have a “unique” flavors. This is a “tight” [almost dry] deep cherry wine. A serious wine with dinner.


MARGAUX, CABERNET SAUVIGNON BLEND 2010 chateau boyd-cantenac ‘josephine de boyd’ bordeaux, france 83- This Bordeaux is from the historic 2010 vintage. Margaux Bordeaux have a unique “sweetness” to the dark fruit [black berry-black cherry-dark plums] flavors. Because of the fantastic vintage, this wine will be packed with “bright” and lush fruit flavors. A really good wine value for the quality.


CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE GRENACHE & MOUVEDRE BLEND 2014 domaine andre mathieu, rhone, france 98-I love Chateauneuf du Pape because of the beautiful red [strawberry-raspberry-cherry] and black fruit [blackberry-bing cherry-dark plums] and spice flavors. You can enjoy Chateauneuf du Pape young, like this 2014.


CHAMBOLLE-MUSIGNY VV, PINOT NOIR 2014 remi jeanniard, burgundy, france 109- This Pinot Noir from the village of Chambolle is almost “ethereal”. Light in color but with intense red fruit [strawberry-raspberry] flavors. Think of a strong woman. 


BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO, SANGIOVESE 2008 la fiorita, tuscany, italy 125- Brunellos [Sangiovese] wines need at least 10 years of bottle age for the tannins to soften and the intense bing cherry fruit flavors to emerge. Here you have the necessary bottle age. A wine to be paired with meat or rich game.
